Dr. Chetan Kharod has been awarded the Young Physician Leadership Award by the American Medical Assocation. According to the AMA,
The Leadership Awards are presented to physicians who have exhibited outstanding leadership in organized medicine and/or community affairs. The awards provide leadership development training for these "emerging leaders" to further strengthen their efforts toward advancing health care in America.
Dr. Chetan Kharod is on active duty in the US Air Force as a Major. He is Assistant Professor in the Dept of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (US's only military medical school) in Bethesda, Maryland. He is also the director of their clerkship in Emergency Medicine for 4th year medical students. In addition, he is a special consultant for International and Civil-Military Operations for the Center for Disaster and Humanitarian Assistance Medicine.
