The nagar community of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area celebrated
the patotsav festival in a grand style on April 19 2008.
Sudhir bhai and Mina ben Dave were the hosts for the event and
made it a patotsav to remember for years to come.
The celebrations included a very traditional hatkesh puja and
an abhishek. The younger members of the community were
exposed to our culture and our rituals.
The puja and aarti were followed by a sumptuous maha prasad.
Over 25 families attended the event making it the biggest patotsav
celebration in recent history. Every one - from dada-dadis to their
grandkids - enjoyed the sharing of our cultural values and traditions.
Special 'jai hatkesh' scarves (imported from Ahmedabad) lent a very
festive air to the occassion. The kids received 'jai hatkesh'
stickers. Thanks to Dhvanit Dave for organizing the stickers and the
scarves.
Sudhir bhai's and Mina ben's enthusiasm and community spirit
truly made it an affair to remember.
