Pu. Pramilaben (Pamiben) Jayantibhai Baxi, mother of Hemaxi, Jagruti and Minal and mother in law of Sourabh Munshi (Maryland), Yogeshbhai Desai (Maryland) and Sanjay Trivedi (Edison, NJ) passed away on Oct 8 2007 at 7.20 am in Baltimore, Maryland. She is survived by her husband Jayantibhai Baxi, daughters, son in laws, grand and great grand children, and a large family in USA and India.

Dr. Subodh Nanavati, our member from Saudi Arabia, has reported the sad demise of his Masi. Smt. Jayakalaben (Ushaben) Rajnikant Nanavati, wife of Late Shri Rajnikant Gunvantrai Nanavati passed away on 1st August, 2007 at Junagadh, India. She was 77 years old and died peacefully.

Uthamana ceremony will take place on 9th August, 2007 at Anant Dharmalaya, Junagadh.

Narendra Laxmirai Nanavati (New Hope, PA) passed away on January 16, 2007. He is survived by his wife Nayana, and his sons Amit and Vipul. He was the brother of Dr. Ashwin Nanavati (Baltimore, MD), Prabhakar Nanavati (Nashua, NH), Niruben Umesh Kharod (Somerset, NJ), and Urvashiben Munindrarai Kikani (Ahmedabad, India)

    Updated on Jan 30 2007: A prayer meeting for Ritaben Desai has been organized on Saturday February 3rd, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jain Temple, 722 South Main Street in Milpitas, California.

    Photo of Ritaben Desai Mrs. Rita Desai wife of Dr. Manoj Desai and mother of three lovely children Toral, Tejal & Vivek passed away on December 21,'06 at 8.05 AM - 3 years after being diagnosed as having Lung Cancer with Brain Metastases.

    Plans are underway to organize a Prarthana Sandhya at Jain Temple on 3rd February, Saturday ( her birthday) from 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM.

    Rita Desai's funeral and memorial services were held in Oakland, California from 9.00 AM to 11.00 AM. on Saturday, December 23, 2006. Swamiji from Badrikashram performed the rituals with Vivek, More than 350 relatives, vadils and friends attended for the the final glimpses of the ever charming young woman,and gave her a final farewell to her eternal journey to a heavenly abode.

    The final services were opened after Bhajans by Piyush Nagar (her Brother) and Mrs. Darshanaben Bhuta set the atmosphere.

    Next Swamiji from Badrikashram performed the rituals with Vivek.. Next tributes with personal touch were presented by family members, Friends, Vadils and Physician treating her. The ceremony was M.C. by Toral and Tejal. The services were attended by over 350 persons. Many were unable to attend due to prior commitments or unable to find airline seat because of holiday rush. They conveyed their feelings by messages.

    Rita's mortal body was taken to crematory where under guidance of Swamiji final send off was given.

    Family conveys their sincere thanks and appreciation for the overwhelming support received and continuing to receive.

    Bakul Tripathi, a prominent humorous writer in Gujarati literature, a long time columnist in Gujarat Samachar, President of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and our nagar star died in Ahmedabad, India.

    December 2005

    We regret to inform you of the death of Mr. Rashmikant Desai (more popularly known as Jashbhai Desai), father of Bakul bhai Desai (& brother of Shree Janak bhai Desai) who passed away on Friday Dec 16 2005 at home in Ahmedabad, India.

    He suffered a head injury after being struck by a motorcycle while on his evening walk and didn't recover from the resulting brain hemorrhage.

    Bakul bhai and Smita ben Desai live in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their family. May they have the strength to bear this loss.
